Every child is born ready to learn.
Not every child finds learning easy. Not every child feels confident. Not every child enjoys school.
But I believe every child begins life with a remarkable capacity to explore, wonder and make sense of the world.
Sometimes something gets in the way: anxiety, a learning difference, executive functioning difficulties, a loss of confidence, a difficult experience, or simply support that did not fit the learner.
My role is not to “fix” children. It is to understand them.
Together, we uncover strengths, remove barriers and create the conditions in which learning can flourish again.

Tutoring that starts with the child
No two children learn in quite the same way.
That’s why no two tutoring sessions look exactly the same. Every lesson begins with the learner in front of us, not a fixed programme or predetermined script.
Sometimes we solve.
Algebra, essays, revision, exam technique — because confidence has grown enough for difficult questions to feel possible.
Sometimes we build.
A tower, a model, a project, a new idea — because discovering how mistakes help us learn can matter more than another worksheet.
Sometimes we organise.
Homework, revision, planning and overwhelming tasks — because knowing where to start can change everything.
Sometimes we rebuild.
Trust, calm, confidence and courage — because learning can only flourish when a child feels safe enough to try.
Great tutoring isn’t about delivering the same lesson brilliantly. It’s about discovering the lesson this child needs today.
Meet Julia
Helping children has never been about worksheets.
After years as a teacher, school leader and mentor, I realised that the children making the least progress were rarely the least capable. More often, they had simply stopped believing that learning belonged to them.
Today I work with children who need something different. Some are preparing for GCSEs. Some are highly able but overwhelmed. Some are neurodivergent. Others have fallen out of love with school altogether.
Every child brings a different story. My role is to understand that story first, then build support around the child rather than expecting the child to fit a system.
